July 2013 Portfolio for Art buyers, Art Consultants, Direct from Artist Konnie Laumer

BlogMasthead

July 2013 Marks a new beginning for me as I journey into the world of art buyers, art consultants, and anyone interested in purchasing my art directly from me. In this newly created, first time ever, blog, I will attempt to give a more in-depth look of my art, both visually, and share some of my thoughts on each piece. This month of July 2013 I’m featuring both recent abstracts, and seascapes that I have included in a sampling portfolio PDF that you might have received from me. If you have not received one, please contact me at konnie@ARTbyKONNIE.com and I will add you to my mailing list and promptly send you my updated portfolio pdf of paintings available for purchase. Soon I will have available, a CD portfolio with high-resolution pictures of new and previous paintings currently available. This first group of paintings are a sampling of just some of my abstracts available.

This painting was the first of this series. Inspired by a request for a piece similar in style to several I had painted almost a decade ago, I knocked this one out and included it in a showing at The Broadway Gallery in Manhattan, New York in 2012. Although this painting has been scanned for reprint, no print will compare to the original which is laden with different tones of metallic.

That critical point one feels when entering dreamland, or exiting. It is a rather shaking moment as you struggle to realize which reality you are in, the physical earth plain, or the astro plain we go to when resting our physical temple.

This painting was one of my last painting created in my open studio in the Santa Fe Arts District. It was painted as a tribute to wonderful Japan in heart-felt sincerity to the devastation of the tsunami. Ribbons of vibrant colors and metallic paint dance across this long canvas. I created this painting to either hand horizontal or vertical, and it looks stunning either way.

This painting is small in size and is a wonderful shape that gives it the ability to add splashes of color to unique places. It can be hung horizontal or vertical giving the view multiple options and new perspective of why it was named “Mermaid School”.

SeascapeBanner
Most of my seascapes are painted on one of my favorite size canvas. 24″ X 8″ with a depth of 1.5″ creating a shadow box feel. These seascapes have turned out to be some of my best work, and have sold almost as fast as I can produce them. People love this size, because they fit in unusual places, or do well in a grouping. I have had some people by multiples just to group them together. I’ve also used this size in quite a few “sketchy” cityscapes which I will feature at a later date.
The paintings featured here all have been produced with the months of June and July, and I will soon have more available and uploaded to my website as I complete them.

This mini-masterpiece takes you to the East coast by the shoreline to view the sun rising over the ocean in a dramatic burst of light through billowing clouds. The bright reflection skims across the top of the water connecting you to the sunrise with rays of light. I used lots of metallic to create reflective light in this depiction of a sea wall to the left.

Laden with blends of metallic from copper to bright gold, antique gold then silver. This little mini-masterpiece will sweep you away to the tropics.

Painting evening skies has a special place in my heart. During the day we don’t see our connection to the universe nearly as much as walking out and being among the stars at night. A better shot is needed to convey the wonderful black glitter Lamé paint, as it does to bring out the vastness and enormity of stars depicted in the upper corners.

This seascape is the first larger seascape I’ve done in a very long time. It is painted on a hand stretched, and textured canvas.  Currently being displayed at Flora Living Boutique, 530 Santa Fe, Denver, Colorado. Framed by black sides, the beautiful gray in this painting compliment the silvery blue waves. This painting is ideal with gray tones, and is a mid-sized horizontal painting. In my next posting I will be bringing you more paintings that are available. I invite you to follow my posts and share them with other potential art buyers. This is my very first posting, so I look forward to your comments, please let me know what your thoughts are on my art.
